DJ Koflow (Singapore)

In early 2013, Tiny Toones was fortunate enough to be visited by the internationally acclaimed DJ Koflow. Hailing from Singapore, Koflow’s won a number of awards including first runner up at the Singapore DMC Champion 2003, Juice Magazine Best New DJ 2003, Best Musician at the Nike StreetStyle Awards in 2004, Honorable Mention for Juice Magazine Best Independent DJ 2004 and first place at the Heineken Thirst Singapore 2005.

He put on a sensational performace in the courtyard of the Tiny Toones centre. Afterwards, he pulled aside some of the music teachers to show them some tricks of the trade and inspire them with his talent.

In March 2013 Tiny Toones released the new album ‘Anakut.’

Phnom Penh’s arts and entertainment weekly paper, ‘the Advisor,’ came to visit the Tiny Toones center to interview the twelve children (aged 12 to 19) involved in the album’s creation. They also spoke to DJ Voch – music teacher and resident DJ who created the backing tracks for the album – and General Manager Shhort for their article.

‘Anakut’ translates to ‘the future’ in English, and this sets the mood of the record with the children writing lyrics about their hopes and dreams for their futures and the future of Cambodia.

New Tiny Toones Music Video

Tiny Toones and 391 Films have together produced a music video for the all-new Tiny Toones song “Anakut” featuring the new generation of Tiny Toones performers.

The video was premiered at an incredible Tiny Toones album launch party last month in Phnom Penh. A ton of people came down to Equinox to see Tiny Toones’ DJ, rappers, and dancers perform all new tracks and routines.

Our thanks go to the Prince Claus Fund and Sabay for making the filming possible. The kids had a great time making it and we’re all really proud of their work.
