Tiny Toones Cambodia uses breakdancing, Hip-Hop music, and the contemporary arts as creative tools to empower the youth of Cambodia to live healthier lives free of HIV and drugs, build a more promising future by furthering their educational opportunities, and become positive role models for their community.
Tiny Toones welcomes all youth to participate in its programs, regardless of gender, social-economic status, physical handicaps, family background, or other personal disadvantages. The education, health, and arts curriculum of Tiny Toones consists of free daily classes in English and Khmer to supplement the children's public schooling, and the integration of HIV education and drug prevention in a fun, child-friendly approach through fun games, skits, and performances. Peer mentors are available around the clock to provide positive support and to teach the elements of Hip-Hop, including breakdancing, rapping, and DJing.

For the first time ever at the Tiny Toones Center, students had the oppotunity to participate in a photography program. Jen May Pastores, a photojournalist from Los Angeles, volunteered to teach the fundamentals of photography so that students could learn how to create their own images that would express their feelings and views of the world around them. Over 50 students, as young as 10 years old, were given digital cameras to take photos of scenes from their daily lives while the workshop ran during the month of August. The program culminated with a photogragraphy exhibit hosted at the Meta House in Phnom Penh, where the students showcased their work to their friends, family, and community. Each student received $5 dollars for every one of their photos that were sold, and the rest of the proceeds went to support the Tiny Toones program. Prints are still available for purchase by contacting Jen May.

The Ponchentong Center grand opening was a major success. Over one hundred people attended, including many prospective member families, volunteers, staff, and also other volunteers from partner organizations. The event quickly escalated into a block party as it became obvious that the grand opening was becoming too big for the center, and the street was eventually filled with people dancing and having a good time. We kicked off the night with a performance by the break dancers, followed by rapping, beat boxing, and a heated dance battle on the concrete in the rain.
