If you visit Tiny Toones for the first time, the first person that you will probably see is young eleven-year-old girl named Chum Srey Hak smiling and reaching out her hand. Like many other children from Tiny Toones, Srey Hak loves making up new handshakes. Sometimes she'll give you a high-five, other times a pound, but if you're especially lucky, she will twist up her fingers and a snap after slapping your hand. Most often, she will hold onto your hand and lead you through the center.
She is very thankful to her friend, Sopha, who introduced her to Tiny Toones. In addition to public school, Srey Hak comes to Tiny Toones regularly to study both English and Khmer. She attentitively sits in the front row of her classes, and when they are asked for an answer, she is often the first one to raise her hand. Even if she does not know the answer, she will raise her hand anyway and give her best guess because she wants the attention of the teacher.
Her father is a carpenter, and her mother cuts clothes in a garment factory. Despite her humble roots, Srey Hak dreams of becoming a doctor someday and believes that Tiny Toones will help her reach that goal.
