Nabil, Mousstick and Cissel (France)

In 2011, Tiny Toones were blessed to not only workshop with, be choreographed by, but to dance on stage also with three French International dancers; Nabil Ouelhadj, ‘Mousstik’, and Cissel.

After two weeks of rehearsals, in collaboration with BDB dancers from Battambang, audiences at Chenla Theatre were wowed to two performances of ‘Roam ! Dansez !’, Episode 2: ‘Carnet de Voyage’ (‘Crazy Car’).

Morganics (Australia)

In 2012 Tiny Toones moved to its new, big Centre in Chba Ampov. Australian Morgan Lewis, aka ‘Morganics’ was to be the first lucky International visiting artist. He is an Australian hip hop artist, performer, director and community worker. Although our new dance floor was not finished and our music studio still just a bunch of guys, a little equipment and a whole lot of space … this didn’t stop Morganics from visiting every day he could and spending time between the DJ room, the music production room and the dance floor.

DJ DSK (China)

DJ DSK who now lives in China, has been visiting us in Cambodia since 2008. He always makes time to visit Tiny Toones where he workshops with all the music staff and students. He has taught many of them about dj’ing, scratching and mixing.

DJ DSK is a good friend to Tiny Toones and stays in touch, and visits whenever he can.

New Home for Tiny Toones

In February 2012 Tiny Toones bids farewell to the Stop Bokor Centre and its graffiti-covered walls and moves a short tuk-tuk ride east to a new home in Chba Ampov. With more class rooms, an indoor dance floor to combat monsoons and new office space, Tiny Toones is now right in the heart of one of Phnom Penh’s poorest neighbourhoods and ready for the year ahead.
